England 2 Germany 0... You heard it here first sports fans!

I love how all the jocks hate England. Shame we'll never get to return the favor as the only sport they are good at is throwing telephone posts in the air.

Well what I meant was, a league which is free can be run more loosely than a pay to race league and would probably require less work.

In principle it should work but the hardest part is getting people to actually put the money on the table. I think a system like this would only work if the league had a large infrastructure and commanded a large amount of respect. If you were to do something like this I think you should run your first season FOC 'free of charge' then see how it goes from there. Also invite drivers/teams that you want to be involved as you will have more confidence in those drivers not to ruin, wreck or just effect the league with general poor driving standards. If you'd paid, for example £10, to race the season and every race you were hit off because of poor standards then it would be quite difficult to manage. Something like the STCC would have been a good platform for this.

Overall my verdict is, too much hard work for little gain.

Quote from BlueFlame :I love the fact they are playing a song about American soldiers escaping a POW camp. Retards. Yey lets play the theme to an American movie to support our ENGLISH football team!

what does the great escape have to do with american soldiers? it was some jolly chaps from the RAF you WUM.

I don't know why your all slating england. USA have a good team with experienced players used to playing week in - week out against the likes of lamps, stevie, rooney etc. Green will and should keep his place. We should win our last two group games comfortably and hopefully finish top so we don't get the germans. We can beat them later in the final on penalties

Germany has looked the most impressive so far- quality young players but iirc they have been using the jabulani ball in the bundesliga since feb maybe that was why their touch and passing was so good.

Goldman Sachs sold long and sold in January. Goldman Sachs plays the market. They buy and sell for quick profits. Goldman Sachs uses computers to do data mining and timed trading.

While I do enjoy the occasional tin foil story this one is not.

Most would claim the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution and the build up of U.S. forces in 1964 as the actual start of the Vietnam war although, as you say, operations in Nam had been going on for a number of years previous to that. Which mirrors the black-ops in Afghanistan since the 1980s.

Simply quit. Sometimes the only way to win is to not play.

It's clear that we are not going to bomb them into the stone age though that would be a clear and decisive victory. It's also clear that we cannot win a guerrilla war against those who play by a different set of rules in their own backyard. We can occupy with overwhelming force for another 100 years and watch the body count rise and still we won't make any headway unless total social and economic collapse is our goal.

Politically I vary depending on the subject from pure Fascism to Anarchy and am moderate on nothing. Standing in the middle of the road is the worst place to be. If you're going to have a war, do it right. If you're not going to do it right, don't do it at all. Some seem to think that just pulling out will cause collapse. That's true but whether we wither away like the Roman Empire or just walk away today, we will eventually leave and the collapse is inevitable so we might as well cut our losses sooner than later. The Middle East is and has been broken for centuries and we can't fix it.
Time to end a losing battle?

As of Monday the Afghanistan war overtook Vietnam to become America's longest war. With 292 British and 1099 U.S. soldiers dead, not to mention the tens of thousands Afghans killed. Isn't it time we pulled out of this mess?

I normally fill it when it gets below 1/4. If your car has a in-tank pump then the fuel acts as a coolant, low fuel could cause it to overheat.

You may gain on fuel efficiency and reduced drag but the counter effect would be reduced downforce and obviously the aesthetic argument. It could be applied to the marine sector though?

Yes a very bias report. I have no issues with Scotland going alone, but Scotland should keep the Darien scheme in mind.

Scotland does not own ALL the North Sea oil as things currently stand. Some of it is in English waters. So why should calculations be done based on it claiming England's oil?

Controversy persists about a claimed "tweaking" of the maritime border between England and Scotland in the 1960s, the border being altered in Scotland's favor. The English were not consulted. Concerns about this issue must be addressed.

Or what about if the Orkney Islands claimed independence, hell that would see alot of Scottish Oil gone? but i guess you wouldn't have an issue with that.

The list goes on. All the talk about the English keeping the Scottish down just to keep control is aload of crap, conspiracy theorists. If we were keeping Scotland in poverty why would we spend so much more money on the health service and education than we do in any other part of the UK, including England?

By 'Argentine bombs' I take it you mean French built and French supplied Exocet missiles? The same France who were suppose to be our allies yet they still supplied arms to our enemy - but hey were no angels either.

The SIS actually run an operation to stop that supply line. We installed arms dealers who were in talks with the Argentineans... but little did they know that the dealers were actually British agents who's objective was to divert their attention away from the real dealers who could actually get the equipment to them.

The only confirmed warhead not to explode was the one which hit the HMS Glamorgan. The real threat came from the Navy's inadequate Anti-Air defence systems based on the ships. So if the Argentineans had managed to take out our two carriers then we would have been in a sticky situation. Thankfully the superior Harriers managed to keep them at bay.

Quote from amp88 :I feel the same way about England stealing all of Scotland's oil money...

England accounts for £1.8 Trillion GDP and nearly 90% of UK GDP, London alone accounts for 20% of UK GDP, whilst North Sea Oil accounts for 1.5% GDP and less than 2% of taxes.

So how about we complain at the Scot's stealing English money eh?
